Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were impeached by the House of Representatives, the former for violating the Terms of Office Act during the 1860s and the later for lying in regards to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Neither of these presidents was removed from office, both coming just shy of the Senate majority necessary to boot the president out. A third president, Nixon, would have been impeached and probably removed from office, but he resigned before this could happen.
