The default installation of an Oracle database provides one redo log member per group. To multiplex the redo log files, at least two members per group is required. Group members should be placed on separate disks. Each group should have the same number of members that are the same size. To add a redo log member, use the ALTER DATABASE ADD LOGFILE MEMBER command.
