The Galaxy are one of fifteen teams in Major League Soccer for the 2009 season. The league is divided into the Western Conference (LA Galaxy, Chivas USA, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, Real Salt Lake, San Jose Earthquakes, and Seattle Sounders FC) and the Eastern Conference (Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, DC United, Kansas City Wizards, New England Revolution, New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC). In 2010, Philadelphia will join MLS as the sixteenth club.
