How many times a day should I feed my 6 months old puppy and how much?
About the age of 6 months is when you usually go from feeding 3 times a day to twice a day. It all depends on the breed and how much the dog weighs and how big does that particular breed get. I don’t know about all different kinds of food but I feed my 10 month old boxer dry food and on the back of the bag it has a chart that says how much food for how many months old and how heavy the dog is. Puppies that will grow big eat more food between the ages of 6 months to a year that they will when they are over 1 year old.
It would definitely depend on the dogs size. I leave the food out all day for my dogs. I feed Innova Evo to my 60 pound American Bulldog/ Border Collie mix and she only eats about 2 cups a day. I feed Innova Evo mixed with Innova large breed puppy to my 3 month old Saint Bernard/ Mastiff/ Great Dane mix and he goes through an ice-cream bucket full of food a day. Both my dogs are at a healthy weight so it just depends on the size and the breed. Most puppy foods have a feeding chart on the back that tells you exactly how much to feed your puppy according to its size and even sometimes according to its breed.
