Hi Tate Chameleons are very tough pets to keep healthy and stress-free. Please take plenty of time to research how to care for them before getting one as you can kill them really fast if you do something wrong! Crickets are staple food for most captive chameleons. Dust them with the correct vitamin powder to ensure your chameleon stays well. However, allow your chameleon to pick and choose from a variety of bugs by leaving them in his tank and letting him decide. Mealworms are good too, and mine used to love crane flies and houseflies which I would capture and put his tank. He also loved being on a houseplant outside his tank and catching his own flies on the window sill, or outdoors on his favourite shrub. Always ensure there is a live and healthy plant inside the vivarium for him to enjoy but make sure it is not any kind of Ficus, as they are poisonous to chameleons even though they LOOK very suitable.
