My husband never wants me to turn them on..”Its too expensive!!”….Oh come on now!….So how much do you think it really costs to run Chrismas lights for month??…I do run quite a few….Maybe 1000-1500 mini lights…I like to have them on for say 6 hours per day…guesses?…math whizzes?…random thoughts?…lol….Thanks! A: Mini bulbs are about 25 watts per 50 bulb strand. Your 1500 bulbs would be 30 strands times 25 watts equals 750 watts. At about 10 cents per kilowatt (1000 Watt) hour, equals about 7 1/2 cents per hour. 6 hours per day equals 45 cents per day, times 30 days equals $13.50 per month.
