How much hard disk space does RescueBoot require?
RescueBoot may require up to 1GB of free space on your hard disk depending upon your existing Windows configuration. RescueBoot requires enough free hard disk space on your system partition (the partition from which Windows is running) to create the RescueBoot hard disk directory. The RescueBoot hard disk directory may require 200-400MB depending on whether or not your system drive is using the NTFS file system. If you are using the NTFS file system RescueBoot will use the compression feature of NTFS to compress the entire RescueBoot hard disk directory and reduce the amount of space that is necessary. RescueBoot requires an additional 200-600MB of free disk space on the the partition on which you installed the RescueBoot software. This space is used for storing the image files created when burning a RescueBoot CD. RescueBoot always uses the NTFS file system within these image files so that hard disk free space requirements are minimized.
