Being in the IT field for over 10 years, this is something that is always sought after by the hiring companies and yet easily overlooked by employees. Although, this does usually depends on location and field of experience being employed, certifications will and should increase the validity of your career worth. (Check your area for salary and cost of living calculators) Technically, getting certified tells an employer that you have passed a load of grueling hours taking tests to prove that you are worthy and capable of managing an infrastructure of networks or systems. The more certified you are in your field (and the more recent) the higher your income should be, hoping the company employing find these certifications useful and an asset. Each certification specifies time and money invested towards your career and knowledge. Safe to say your income will increase.
