How much should I charge for homemade cards?

0

I used to manage a small card shop that sold mass produced “homemade” cards. We would charge anywhere from $3.00 to $5.00 depending on the size and detail on the card. You will first need to figure out the sizes of cards being made, and what details are on them. I also used to manage a craft store, and I know some of the card embellishments can be costly. I do not know exactly what kind of event you are looking to sell them at, but, here in NY, usually you need to pay “rent” for the space. You want to make sure you actually make a profit for the day. Also, at some craft fairs, people try to haggle with you to lower your price. Also consider having deals, like $4.00 each or 3 for $10.00. Usually that will get a potential customer to buy more. One other solution, is a formula I used in past job to price items made in the store. Take the cost of all items used divide by 2.5 then multiply by 3.5 to get the retail price. So if the cost of all supplies for an item is $10 – – – – 10 / 2.5 x 3
