How much space is required to keep a pair of pygmy goats?

Sounds like you are ready for your new pets! A half acre is MORE than enough space for a pair of Pygmies (you could even have 4 or 5 of them in that space if you are supplementing). Pygmies can be escape artists so make sure your fencing is very secure & check it regularly. Fill in any gaps between gate rungs, etc. so they can’t squeeze through (you will be amazed at the small spaces they can get through). May I suggest you consider wethers if you aren’t planning on breeding. Wethers are neutered males. They don’t have any of the “bucky” habits that an intact buck would have, and they tend to be more affectionate and make better pets than does. Does have heat cycles and it can make them quite moody and vocal. An added bonus is that wethers are generally about half the cost of does. Of course does also make excellent pets, but there are advantages to having wethers unless you plan on raising your own someday.
