How much time does an employee have to add a newborn or an adopted child to his or her coverage?
Newborn or adopted children must be enrolled within 60 days of eligibility, if adding the child increases the employee’s premium. If an additional child does not increase the employee’s monthly premium, the employee should notify his or her personnel/payroll/benefits office as soon as possible to ensure the timely payment of claims.
