How quickly can assets be imported and exported?
The speed at which digital assets can be brought into the system varies based on the size of the source file and the processing power of the workstation ingesting the content. Most ingests can be accomplished in a few seconds. However, legacy content such as analog and digital tapes requires the source tape be played through in its entirety before the encoding process can begin. VideoBank’s Transcoder Module automates the transcoding and distribution of assets. The rendering process is directly related to the workstation running the process, as well as the infrastructure that supports the integration of multiple workstations. Once a file has been transcoded, the system can automatically migrate that file to a web server or distribute it to subscribers cell phones or PDAs.
