How safe is Prozac?

0

So far incredibly safe, few drug interactions, no physical dependence. You will find patients that feel they do experience a withdrawal syndrome, but clearly not a usual dependence. Described as headache, disorientation, etc. Prozac Question: My daughter is on 20 mg a day of Prozac and all the other questions have been asking why this drug makes people tired and have no energy. My daughter s doctor is giving her this drug to give her more energy I thought, as she was very depressed. She states that she now has so much energy. Should this be true? Answer: This drug (and other SRI antidepressants) can be a lifesaver for the right patient. They feel just wonderful and see/feel things that have been blunted for years. This is a very heady experience. It is also wonderful as a physician to see this effect, which about 20% of patients experience.
