You have probably already heard that South Africa has a high crime rate however, if you follow the same rules that you would in any large city around the world, the chance of something happening to you is very small. For example: don’t walk alone at night, don’t go into areas that are known to have a lot of problems with crime, be aware of your surroundings etc. If you are careful and sensible, the chance of something happening is very small and there is no reason to be scared.
