How to ask in a formal way for the inland revenue to waive the payment?pls help?
Hey, if you actually owe tax I dought if they will waive it, but may agree to you paying it off gradually. It depends a lot on what the payment is for. If the payment you owe is for a penalty you can say you want to appeal against the penalty & explain why, then they may cancel it. If they payment is due because you earned a lot more the previous tax year & you need to make a ‘payment on account’ there is a form you can use called SA303 http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa/forms/sa303.pd… If you’re not sure what the payment is for just try to explain as much as you can in your letter, and include any references that they put on their letter to you. Your letter does not need to be complicated, so try not to worry about writing it. I know writing a letter like that can be difficult when your not used to it & its important because its about money! ‘I would be grateful if you could consider waiving the payment due to you of £*** b
