1. Employee is not taking up desk space or using supplies. 2. Employee needs no ‘sick kid’ days off. 3. Employee needs no ‘personal days’ off. 4. Employer can retain key employees even when they relocate. 5. No snow days off… 6. More productive hours of work without the commute. My daughter took one year to convince her supervisors as IBM to let her work from home. She also does all of her work over the internet. Her job is to keep all the computer systems up and running, clearing virus’ out, and the like. Once she got everything arranged to ‘work from home’, she sold her house, bought a huge RV and left New England and moved to sunny Florida. She spends many days working from her RV, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. She used to have a 2 hour commute to work every day…gone 12 hours a day. Grabbing fast food on the way home, stressed and over tired….trying to manage home, family and work. She is far more productive now, happier and healthier, too. She is one of a very few to pionee
