Dissolve copper(II) sulphate in water until no more will dissolve. Pour off and keep the clear blue solution. Leave for a few days at room temperature. Filter off any crystals and pick out the biggest. Keep the filtered solution. Tie a piece of cotton around the crystal Tie the other end to a pencil or rod. Suspend the crystal in to filtered solution. Cover to reduce the amount of evaporation and inspect at regular (daily) intervals. Keep in a cool room away fro heat and light. The crystal should grow to quite a large size PROVIDING the evaporation is kept to a slow rate.
