How to introduce an unsocialized pup into the household?
My fiance’s mother recently brought home a 9 month old to 1 year old miniture Chihuaha. The family she got him from never socialized with it, and he was kept in a cage for hours and hours on end. She already has a one and a half year old Papillion named Bear. He too was “rescued” from a neglectful/abusive family. He still has some behavioral issues (he nips at the men in the household if they get to close to the women) and he still pees in the house. He doesn’t seem too bothered by the new addition, just more curious about him than anything. Bear hasn’t shown any aggression towards him at all. This new dog (who was called Peanut but does not answer to this name)has some issues with people. I blame most of them on the fact he wasn’t paid much attention to or properly (if at all) socialized to people or other animals.
