How to Make Artificial Rocks
To make artificial rocks in addition to three buckets clean fine washed sand, one bag type ten Portland cement, one and one quarter buckets undensified silica fume, 1/4 bucket fly ash, a respirator, 800 ml poly-plex or liquid latex, 300 ml water reducer, water as needed. Cement can be mixed in a mixer, on a piece of plywood with a square headed shovel or in a bucket. If it can mix over a long lunch break all the better. Mix all dry ingredients first, then add a bit of water at a time. It will take time and patience to figure out the right amount. Try taking your point trowel and smooth out the concrete like spreading icing on a cake. If it spreads out to nothingness, there’s too much water. If it breaks instead of spreading, you need a touch more water. Less is more. You know have a few hours to work with the concrete. Don’t let the concrete dry on your tools or in the mixing container.
