How to reinforce soft materials to be used in areas to be treaded on?
This is typical of some types of limestone that “as they are”, because of their poor hardness, are completely unsuitable to be used in places to be intensely treaded on. To make them suitable for these applications, they are treated with hygro-hardening polymers that seep into the pores of the stone, forming a very hard polymer layer that reinforces the material.
