pry it forward just enough to locate the clips that are holding the plate on (appoximately 5 clips). Press in on each clip until all clips are released, then pop plate off. The stereo is mounted on with a couple screws. Undo the screws and pull the unit out forward. When replacing the stereo you will need a mounting bracket kit for the new stereo which can be purchased at circuit city. Good Luck.
