how to replace washing machine door hinge (hoover Performa eco 1200)?

I have a new door hinge to replace the broken one on my hoover Performa eco 1200 washing machine.(WB 120). The bit that baffles me is how the hinge is secured to the washing machine housing. The existing broken hinge appears to be riveted on. I would appreciate advice on this from any one who has replaced a hinge like this before. Many thanks.
