How to start learn hacking in the beginning?
As a security consultant, I sometimes have to break into systems as part of the assignment. It always amuses me how people believe that “hacking” is something which you can learn or which you can do using certain tools. If I would be asked to do penetration testing on a specific server, lets say a Windows Server 2008 running Internet Information Services, I would need to know everything there is to know about Windows Server 2008 and Internet Information Services. If I cannot set up a Windows Server 2008 properly myself, then how could I ever know if someone else has set up Windows Server 2008 correctly? If I do not know anything about Internet Information Services, then how could I ever take advantage of a misconfiguration?
