Can’t see how anyone can ‘take control’ of an isolated unit in real time, but as you said the computer was connected to the net in the past you may have picked up a time sensitive virus that’s laid dormant on your system unnoticed, then attacked at a predetermined date. I doubt you’ve been ‘hacked’ because hacking takes place in realtime and most hackers anren’t interested in you and me, they go after more challenging systems like banks etc. MP3’s can carry a virus, and you may have infected the system when transferring files from the pc that is connected to the net. If this is so then the net connected computer is probably infected too so run a full virus scan on that pc as soon as you can, and also reformat the mp3 player to eliminate the chance of reinfection from that unit later. You’ll lose all your mp3’s but you can safely reload them from the pc once the virus scan has finished. You have one consolation … because your library pc wasn’t hooked up to the net at the time, any dat
