The NTMP is a portion of a wider effort by SJWC to address fire hazard within the Los Gatos Creek watershed. The management of their forestland under an NTMP does provide significant contributions to that effort, such as securing permits for upgrading forest road systems. Revenue generated by forest management activities will be re-invested into the watershed.SJWC is dedicated to the development of a Fire Response Plan for their ownership within the Los Gatos Creek drainage from Lexington Reservoir to Williams Reservoir. This plan will facilitate the prompt delivery of fire equipment and fire crews into the heart of the Los Gatos Watershed in the event of a fire, address future road maintenance programs, identifying sources of water on and off property, provided training grounds for fire response agencies, and provide a communications schedule.
