How will the noise be controlled from the quarry operation?

0

The noise from the quarry should not be noticeable. The quarry is located at the far southeastern corner of the County and the nearest residential development–Douglas Mountain Ranch — is more than a mile away. The processing and load out area will be located on the floor of the quarry behind natural ridge lines that separate the quarry from Highway 119 and homes in Douglas Mountain Ranch. The quarry walls will be rough and irregular which will limit acoustic and reverberation effects. And, the quarry operations will be masked by the existing levels of road noise from Highway 119. In addition, Brannan has agreed to meet the residential noise standards — day and night–at the property boundary. If necessary, Brannan will use noise shields on its equipment to meet this standard.
