How will the stabbing tips (re: when javelins are used as thrusting, not as projectiles) be checked on javelins?
Javelins will be checked just as stringently as spears for their safety during hard two-handed thrusts. Several javelins that used pipe insulation as their shaft padding were “broken” during this test last year because the pipe insulation has not attached to the core properly and it “rode up” on the shaft (thus permanently exposing core) during the thrust tests. Please ensure that your javelin can handle the rigor of two-handed thrust testing.
