How will Yemen LNG be compensating for cases of loss of property / land?
Two government decrees were issued on the formation and work procedures of a Land Compensation Committee. It is headed by the Prime Minister and administered by the Deputy Minister of Oil and Minerals. It is formed of eight members, including members of the Parliament and representatives of the administrative districts that fall within the scope of the Project’s work. Among them are the Deputy Governors of Marib and Shabwa, the two governorates which the pipeline route crosses. Claims of damage are presented to the committee which in turn studies the claims to determine their validity and the amount of compensation to be paid. Yemen LNG settles the final amounts agreed through this process.
