The autoVoIP passively monitors specific VoIP traffic (Skinny, SIP, SDP, RTP and RTCP frames), so it is critical that it is deployed correctly to ensure that it can see the relevant traffic flow. It needs to see Signalling and ideally RTCP traffic (if RTCP is not available autoVoIP will be able to get QoS information from RTP). If for example Signalling and RTP/RTCP traffic can not been seen from a central point you can use the multi-port facility to pipe both sets of traffic to the autoVoIP system It should typically be set up to monitor the VoIP VLAN The following diagrams cover deployment of the autoVoIP system.
