I am getting braces do they hurt?

ive had mine in since may, dont worry, it doesnt hurt when you get them put in. what happens is, the dentist (or orthodontist) will put this thing in your mouth to keep your lips up so your teeth are constantly exposed entirely, then will clean your mouth with this little tap thing and dry it completely with a little vaccuum. next the brackets go in (the bits that get stuck on each tooth) with a little special glue (which doesnt very nice but you wont taste it too much) then the wires gets thread through, then elastic band over the bracket to keep the wire from coming out, (you can choose your colour, i have purple) then the wire will be cut short at the end, to stop it scratching the inside of your cheek. the process takes about half an hour to 40 minutes, its doesnt hurt.

I was questioning the same thing before I got mine. Now, I have had my braces for about a month and a half I was really nervous before I got them on but I don’t know why I was! The only pain you feel is when they put the metal rings around your molars. But that didn’t hurt too much. Here is the process. First they put te metal rings around you molars. Then they put the polish on your teeth to whiten it. Then he brackets go on, the wire, then the color elastics! It is kind of quick… but not really… EAT: mashed potatoes pudding jello pasta bananas apple sauce stuff like that… DON’T EAT beef jerky hard steak skittles m&ms anything hard, but I guess you can eat it with your very back teeth. REMEMBER! To brush 3-4 times a day, and floss at least once a day! Also, remember to take very good care of your braces. If you slack off you WILL regret it in the future. And if any bracket breaks, call your orthodontist ASAP! Good luck!!
