I am going to be traveling internationally. What are my options for placing calls to other countries while traveling internationally, or calling back to my university office from overseas?
Your options are to use a university-provided calling card, making sure that the calling card has the correct level of calling (international calling permitted), or to use a university-provided cell phone that will work internationally. The cell phone needs to be on an international calling plan and must work on the frequency used in that particular overseas location. There are some areas in the world where university-provided cell phones will NOT function. Details concerning these areas can be found on the vendors’ web sites. Contact Kathy Bonafede (kbonafed@gmu.edu) if more information is required.
