No. If you are eligible to be vote in this country you are legally obliged to register. If you do not register you could be fined up to £1000. If you are worried about your details being available publicly, you can opt out of the commercial version of the register better known as the Edited Register. This is the register that is available for inspection at the Town Hall and libraries in the borough. The Edited Register can also be purchased by direct mail companies. The full version of the register which must include your details is not available commercially. It can be inspected but only with supervision and by appointment and only at the Town Hall.
