I am standardized on Office Standard 97 but only Office Standard 2000 license are on the price list. What license do I need to buy to be able to run Office Standard 97 on my new machines?
If you buy the Office 2000 license through a Microsoft volume license program you are allowed to use any prior version of the product in place of the version you order. So if you have a license for Office Standard 2000 you are allowed to run any prior version of Office Standard. When you are ready to move up to Office Standard 2000 no extra purchase would be needed for that license since it is still a valid Office Standard 2000 license.
