I am trying to use yum to install something, but it tells me “Error: Missing Dependency: kernel-headers is needed by package glibc-headers.” Why isn yum working?

It is, but for various reasons we don’t allow kernel related things to be upgraded by default (there are many pieces of telephony hardware that might stop working if the kernel version changes, because the drivers (kernel modules) are built on a per-kernel basis.
