I cannot get myARTS to communicate with my computer. Any hints?
When you apply power to the ARTS, it first checks to see if it is connected to a computer (running DataAnalyzer). If it does not see a computer, then it assumes it is going to go for a ride and enters flight mode. This transition to flight mode is announced by the series of ascending tones. Once in flight mode, the ARTS stops looking for DataAnalyzer and is only looking for launch. So, *BEFORE* you power up the ARTS, DataAnalyzer must be running, and configured with the correct serial port. Once you hear the ascending tones, then DataAnalyzer will not be able to connect to the ARTS, and you need to power off the ARTS and reapply power.
