I click on the EViews icon and it begins to start up, but then nothing happens. Whats wrong?
EViews was improperly installed on this computer. Note that if you simply copy the contents of your EViews directory to a new computer and then attempt to start EViews, the program will not execute. This problem often shows up when individuals upgrade their systems to a new computer by copying the contents of the existing directories. Installing the program from your original installation diskettes will solve the problem. If you have installed the program from your original diskettes but boot from a network server, the installation problem may be due to you not having write access to the network system directory. EViews requires write access to this directory during installation to write a small configuration file (approximately 2K in size). Please contact your system administrator to arrange temporary network write access. If your administrator has questions, please have him or her contact us for further details.
