I downloaded the zip install file for Total Recorder. I unzipped it and tried to run Setup.exe but received an “Invalid distribution” message. Why?

I downloaded the zip install file for Total Recorder. I unzipped it and tried to run Setup.exe but received an “Invalid distribution” message. Why?

Setup.exe assumes that all the files are in your current working directory. When you run the self-extracting file (i.e. tr70se.exe or similar, depending on the version and edition), it takes care of this for you. If you manually unzip the archive you must take care of this yourself. It is not enough to extract only Setup.exe.
