You are probably adding the provider jars to your classpath before starting the application. That interferes with the CoG class loading mechanism for providers. You should only add the jars from cog/lib to the classpath, and not jars from any sub-directory of cog/lib or any other directory in CoG. Versions after CoG 4.1.3 should display a clear error message when provider jars are added to the class path.
