I have a copy of X-Men # 1- what is it worth?
A. If you want or need this done, it is really a two-step process that you will have to follow. 1) Step One: Get Your Book Graded. This is best done by a professional. Unless you see and grade a large quantity of books on a daily basis, you really do not know what you are looking at or how to properly grade. If you really think you have a valuable book in great condion, buck up and pay a few bucks to have it graded. No one cares what grade YOU think it is… but a professional grading carries some weight with it. Probably the best company to approach for this service is CGC. 2) Step Two: Appraisal. Once one know the condition of a book, one can then appraise it. If you have a relationship with a comic book dealer, they would probably be glad to help you. If not, maybe it is time to start building that relationship. In either case, expect to pay a bit for a real appraisal. You can probably also work with the larger dealers on a package deal that would include both aspects of the process
