I have a crossguard with/without a core on my weapon… how do I know if it will pass weapons check or not?

If a crossguard has a core, it will be checked for adequate padding for a non-striking surface, with the tip not passing through a 2.5″ hole more than 0.5″. If the crossguard is more from foam and tape, it will be checked as a pommel (re: cannot pass through 2″ hole more than 0.5″).
