I have a truetype font with opentype tables, but windows displays the “TT” (truetype) icon and not the “O” icon. Why?

As far as I can tell Windows will mark a truetype font with the “O” icon if that font contains a ‘DSIG’ (Digital Signature) table. FontForge does not produce digital signatures (I think they are of negative utility, and anyway I don’t know how to create them). However, it is possible to ask FontForge to create a ‘DSIG’ table which contains no signatures. That seems enough to make windows happy.
