I have hooked a Firewire hard drive up to a Power Macintosh G4 running Mac OS 9.1 but the drive does not show up. What software do I need to install to use this drive?

Mac OS 9.1 does not require any other software to work with Firewire hard drives. Apple’s Drive Setup in OS 9.x does NOT recognize firewire drives, and if you need to reformat a firewire drive, you will need to use a third party utility to do so. If you have access to Mac OS X, we suggest reformatting the FireWire drive using Disk Utility included with Mac OS X.
