I just changed my email address using ENID » Select An Email Name. How long will my old email address remain active?
Email names normally remain assigned to people until all their @emory.edu and @emoryhealthcare.org email accounts are deleted, as would happen after they leave Emory. Then the email names are put on hold for 12 months in case the people return and to give email coming to the associated addresses a chance to taper off. Names on hold are not available to others, but can be reclaimed by the previous owners. At the end of the hold, the names are released for reuse and others can claim them.
