Answer Pat, If you must bleed the pump, you need to slowly open a small screw in the top of the pump with a hex-head. Turn off the pump first, then shut off the valve after the pump in order to maintain the same head pressure on the house system. Once you’ve allowed water to flow without air coming from the pump, then it should be okay to put together and test it out. Additionally, sometimes this issue is caused by a bad hi/low pressure switch and working with this switch can be dangerous. I would not recommend a novice work on that switch, but sometimes, well companies will be kind enough to offer advice by phone – usually for free. Please keep me updated with your progress on this. Hope this helps.
