First off, I feel your pain. Nothing is more annoying than arranging accommodation in a big city like Glasgow. I advise you to look for something like one of the many holiday cottages near Glasgow. Staying just outside the city means you can easily take a bus, train, or taxi right into the city’s heart via Queen Street or Central Station.
This means you can get around the city when you want to be in the middle instead of being stuck there all week. Staying outside the city can be cheaper, too, meaning it is easier to find accommodation for up to six people. One place I liked was Finlaystone Barns, a cottage I found online when staying in Glasgow. I just checked, and it covers up to six people. Result!
This would be the best place to stay if visiting with six guests.
