I need dwarf hamster help????

Do NOT keep it outside. A screened in porch should be fine as long as it doesn’t get too humid or hot. Hamsters need room temperature. I also live in CT, so I know how cold it gets in winter. During summer and winter I would probably keep the hamster inside only because if it gets too hot or cold, there is a greater chance it could die. Speaking of breeds, though, I don’t recommend a dwarf hamster. Dwarf hamsters are not for beginners, because they are so fragile and delicate. Handling them in the wrong way could cause an injury. I recommend a “fancy hamster” (pet stores call them this but they are really syrian hamsters) Syrian hamsters are just as cute and they are much more friendly to beginners. Just make sure that you only have one hamster per cage as syrian hamsters can be aggressive…especially make sure that there isn’t a male and female in the same cage because you might end up with babies. Good Luck! Hope I helped!

I have three robo dwarf hamsters. DO NOT put them out there. They will die because of the harsh temperatures. They can not stand hot or cold. It has to be somewhere in between, which is why they have to be inside. My mom wasn’t sure about them being inside either but now she doesn’t mind because they do not make a mess and they do not smell. Whatever you do, do not put them in the porch or outside, that is the worst thing you can do. Hope this helps!

I wouldn’t want to keep my hamster outside, especially in cold weather. I believe the temperature range would be anywhere from 60-80 F, just because that is a comfortable range for humans. Don;t let it get overheated, and don’t put it outside in the winter.

Well i wouldn’t keep it outside because if it escapes its gone for and it will be too cold or too hot! I personly reccomed black bear hamsters because they dont get out as easy. Dwarfs get out pretty easy. Also they really dont smell if you clean the cage good so if thats why your mom doesnt want in inside tell her that. The wheel might make a little noise so i would get a silent runner wheel. I would keep it inside and and in the summer get a fan or a ac. In the winter maybe get and little house inside the cage and a little more bedding as usall so he\she can keep warm. They should get too cold if there inside because they have hair. You should keep it around room temp. If you are going to keep it outside i wouldnt even get one. It would either die of coldness or get too hot. Dwarf escape VERY easily and run away and out side isnt a good idea! So i hope this helps!Black bears are very kind and dont escape! DONT keep it outside.
