An audiobook CD is no different from any other audio CD when it comes to the data format. If you’re experience problems ripping them, it’s most likely due to a basic problem, rather than the fact that it’s an audiobook. Odds are, either your drive is dirty, or your disks need cleaning. Try cleaning your drive a few times first with a CD cleaning disc. (This is good to do now and then, anyway.) Next, have a look at your CDs. If they’re dirty or scratched, try to use a disk polisher on them. You can get a manually powered polisher for $10, or an automatic one, which is alot more convenient, for $20. Run your discs through those, and try again. If you continue to experience problems, try turning on error correction in iTunes. Go to Preferences, then Advanced, and click on the Importing tab. Check off the “User error correction when reading Audio CDs” box. (This is for iTunes for the Mac, I would assuming it would be similar on Windows, if you’re using that.)
