The CAC is an identification card as well as an authentication card that enables cardholders to “sign” documents digitally, encrypt emails, and establish secure online network connections. The CAC will identify you as a Navy employee, and your future access to AF secure sites will depend on your need to have access as determined by the administrator of that Air Force site.
