I want a foregrip on my pistol. Since some AOWs are legal in NY, can I file the paperwork to make my AR pistol an AOW?

If you have a pre-ban pistol, you probably could. Post-bans have to contend with the rules of the AWB in NY, which means no threaded barrel, no barrel shroud, and strict weight limits that would easily be violated by adding more stuff onto an already heavy pistol.
