i9c30 How much transfer credit will I receive toward the Post LPN BN?
The Bachelor of Nursing degree credit requirements are 120. Thirty (30) credits are awarded for Alberta Licensed Practical Nurse Certification. The 30 credit transfer award was based on review of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) competencies, as opposed to any particular practical nurse curriculum. Hence, the admission criteria of: *Current licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta *Equivalent of one year full-time work experience (1700 hours) as a Licensed Practical Nurse; applicants must submit letter(s) from employers to substantiate. Students in the post LPN BN program are expected to possess, at minimum, the level of knowledge and skills related to the areas outlined in the CLPNA competencies and to build upon that level of knowledge and skill during the course of their program.
